K-LOVE Crisis Response Training
Do you provide care for those experiencing grief or emotional distress? K-LOVE, the nation-wide contemporary Christian music station is offering free training to equip individuals so they can better serve those in our community that are suffering. The K-LOVE Crisis Response Training program endeavors to impact the community through critical incident stress management training and assist in creating a network of first responders within the community to be ready in a time of need.
This training was initially created for military purposes and has been proven effective and beneficial for first responders and other professional emergency service workers. Now this valuable knowledge is available, free of charge for anyone who registers, space permitting. The more community citizens that enroll, the more they can share what they have learned with their church, workplace, and everyday life – creating a thriving supportive community.
This August, two courses will be offered in Greensboro.
- Emotional and Spiritual Care in Disasters will be offered on August 5 and 6, from 8:00am – 5:00pm. This is an advanced course addressing the intangible post-disaster effects on individuals.
- Grief Following Trauma takes place on August 7th and 8th from 8:00am – 5:00pm. In this class participants will learn how trauma impacts the grief process and acquire the skills needed for evaluating and supporting people who have experienced traumatic death and loss.
If you are not in the Greensboro area, these classes and others are also being held throughout the country, in Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Michigan, and Montana.
